General Intercessions

Twenty Ninth Sunday of Ordered Time

October 19, 2025

Presider:  The Lord instructed his disciples to pray always, with faith that God hears our prayers and answers them according to his will. With confidence we offer God the concerns of our hearts and minds.

Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “Lord, Hear our prayer”

1.That Pope Leo and Bishop _____ lead the faithful in prayers for peace and to discover and work to fulfill God’s plan for us, we pray...

2. That our parish community gather with hearts focused on the welfare and growth of families, our parish community, and our city, we pray...

4. That Christians of all faith traditions come together in faith to pray for peace in our nation, among the churches, and for safety of the vulnerable in our midst, we pray...

5. That parents encourage their children in word and example how to pray from their hearts for themselves, their family, and their communities, we pray...

6. That those who care for the injured, those harmed by violence, and those with mental challenges pray as they work for the safety and health of the persons they serve, we pray...

7. That confessors and sacramental ministers pray that they attend to those they serve with patience, with kindness, with attention, and love, we pray...

8. That teachers pray before their day begins, during times of challenge in the classroom, and when working with students facing social, economic, and discrimination problems, we pray...

9. That our community is aware and supportive in prayer and helping hands to vulnerable adults and children suffering  from abusive, rejection, and domestic violence, we pray...

10. That those who died this week (list here) and those approaching death’s door are encouraged by faith and sacrament. That the intention of this Mass, (list here) _____is (are) remembered in our prayers, we pray...

11. We petition God for our personal needs and for help resolving concerns of hand, mind, and heart: (pause) Let us place these intentions on the altar with the financial gifts offered for ministries of our community, we pray...

Presider: Father, we know that prayer unites us to you and that you answer our prayers. We know as well that your answers are your choice for us and are for our welfare. Help us turn our hearts to your Will. Grant us your peace through our efforts for prayer. We ask this in the name of your Son, our Brother Jesus who lives with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever.

Response: Amen.
