 General Intercessions for:

Thirty Second Sunday of Ordered Time

November 10, 2024

Presider: God is always present to us as Creator, as Word Incarnated, and as Spirit, Advocate and Inspirer. With confidence, then, let us bring the concerns and needs held in our hearts and minds to God.

Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “Lord, hear our prayer.”

1.That the Church through the leadership of Pope Francis, Bishop _________, and clergy and religious model service as Worship of God, we pray...

2. That the Lord bless the hands and hearts of healers, first responders, and military personnel who to bring health, safety, ethics, and commitment to the way of Christ, we pray...

3. That the Lord spread his mantle of love and safety over people in harm’s way. That the Prince of Peace bless peace makers with insight, skill, and effective diplomacy to end war, we pray...

4. That the Lord of healing would hasten the time when the home-bound, the physically sick, those suffering from mental illness, and those spiritually challenged are brought to health and returned to our worshipping assembly, we pray...

5. That politicians, administrators, and welfare workers attend to the educational, housing, health care, and economic needs of their citizens, we pray...

6. That violence against innocents bringing starvation and death be seen as a tragic loss to the flourishing of our world. That expenditures for weapons of war be viewed as drain on the life of nations, we pray...

7. That our Parish members commit themselves to evangelizing their associates by living the teachings of Jesus and practicing the way of the Kingdom, we pray...

8. That those who died this past week (list them here being careful to pronounce names correctly and clearly) and those dying this week be welcomed into the heavenly kingdom. That the intention of this Mass, (list here with clear diction) __________ be in our prayers, we pray...

9. Let us add our personal intentions to these prayers: (pause) Let us place these intentions on the altar with our gifts to the community, we pray...

Presider: Father, we are needy people. Help us soften the hardness of our hearts so to be more receptive to the presence and needs of our fellow human beings. Loosen the stiffness of our backs so we can bend them in service of others. Rip from our hearts and minds hatred, revenge, and distrust. We ask this in the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever.

Response: Amen.
