General Intercessions

Seventh Sunday of Ordered Time
February 23, 2025

Presider: We trust in the merciful love of the Lord. His heart rejoices in our salvation. Let us pray to the Lord who is bountiful to us.

Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “Lord, Hear our prayer”

1. That Pope Francis, Bishop _______, clergy, religious, lay leadership, and catechists teach us how to love our enemies and how to love those who hate us, we pray...

2. That we gathered for worship are aware of God’s abiding love despite our sins and failures to love others as God loves them, we pray...,

3. That Christians and especially our parish support the poor and those on the margins of society by volunteering, almsgiving, and prayer, we pray...

4. That children learn to imitate adults as they live the golden rule by treating others as they wish to be treated, we pray...,

5. That professionals caring for the sick and challenged be encouraged by our parish in their efforts benefiting those needing help returning to active membership in our community, we pray...

6. That abused, neglected, and trafficked women and children are encouraged by the Holy Spirit and our Community to seek help and accompaniment for the struggle beginning a new life of dignity and worth in the image and likeness of God, free of the manipulations of predators, we pray...

7. That first responders, military personnel, and counselors have the courage and character to provide assistance to those in distress with kindness and charity, we pray...

8. That those who died this past week (list here) and those approaching death’s door are encouraged in faith and welcomed by Jesus. That the intention of this Mass, (list here) _________ is (are) remembered in our prayers, we pray...

9. Let us now lift our personal needs and concerns of hand, mind, and heart to our Father: (pause) Let us place these intentions on the altar with the financial gifts we offer for the needy of our community, we pray...

Presider: Father, may your grace transform us into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the gospel. May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos in the sure expectation of a new heaven and a new earth. We ask this, Lord, of you in the community with the Word and the Holy Spirit.

Response: Amen.
